TP#12 Rick shemanski

I met with Anton at his house. We reviewed present perfect continuous tense and also the past perfect tense. This lesson piggy backed on our previous session where we reviewed the present perfect tense. We started by reviewing what we learned last lesson and Anton completed a fill in the blank quiz. Anton seemed to have a better understanding of when to use the present perfect tense. We also reviewed the  four circumstances in which the present perfect tense is used.

We then shifted to learning about the present perfect continuous tense. I reviewed the reasons in which the continuous tense is used. We focused on key word that indicate recent actions or actions that were happening until a certain time. I then showed Anton a equation for forming sentences in the present continuous tense. "Have/ has been + -ing form of verb", Anton seemed to understand this but stuggled about when to use the continuous form as apposed to present perfect form. We did a couple quizes together and Anton seemed to get a hang of the tense. We finished up with a listening activity, where a student is talking to his teacher. Anton then summarized the clip and answered questions about the clip. We made plans to meet for our next lesson.
