KyungAh TP#8

I met with my child tutee on Saturday morning. I went over there and she was just waking up, again like last Saturday morning. I wondered if maybe we should change the time of when we meet because she seemed to always be so tired when we met up; but, her aunt was persistent on keeping the same time so that she can be "productive" even when she is here. I told her she can go to the bathroom and wash her face if she wanted to and so she said okay and she told me don't come in the room yet because the bed was not made. I waited outside the door as she scurried through the room. When she was finally ready, she opened the door and I came in. She asked me if I wanted anything to drink or eat and I said I was okay, but she brought me orange juice and a plate of fruit. We started with the grammar books and since it was Saturday, I didn't assign her homework on the weekday. I had her read the passages and underline the words that she did not understand (vocabulary). Once she read through, I had her read through it again and this time, I would tell her the meanings of the words after she tried to "guess" what it meant through context. After, she answered the questions and I would check to see if she got them right or wrong and if she got them wrong I would have her find the answer in the passage (locate the answer). After doing this, we took a ten minute break and then resumed back to session (same thing we just did). At the end, I told her to do 3 pages for the next time we meet (Wednesday) and that should give her plenty of time. She said okay and then I left to go home.
