KyungAh TP#7
I met with my conversation partner on Monday (yesterday) of when FSU Spring Break ended. Since I didn't have spring break, both of our schedules were not affected by it. He had come back from Tampa the Sunday night before and so he seemed tired from driving. He went to Tampa to take an exam and so, when I met him I asked him how his exam went and he said it was good, but hard. He told me he thinks he did an "okay job," but is not sure. I told him he probably did well and just have to wait and find out his scores. From our previous meeting, he didn't have any questions pertaining to CIES homework and/or classes, so we agreed to just improve his speaking/listening skills because he said he doesn't speak English or listen to English when he goes back home (all his friends speak Arabic). I asked him what kind of music he likes to listen to and he told me all the music that come from the radio and so, I brought my computer and had him listen to "American" music. I said this is a good way to learn some vocabulary as well because lyrics do have good meaning to them. We actually did this little activity for about 15-20 minutes by listening to around 2-3 songs. He enjoyed it and said this is a good practice that he could do at home by himself. Since he seemed really tired, though, I told him if he wants to go home and rest he can. He did not decline that offer because the whole time we were talking he kept yawning.
