On march 13th I met with
Ahmed again and he seemed much more comfortable with talking to me
and it was also easier for me to understand him and his hand gestures
as well as his vocabulary. In the first meeting I was having some
trouble understanding his arabic accent.
In todays lesson we went over simple
continuous tense (-ing). I let him bring his materials from class
that he had specific questions for and we went over them. I was able
to evaluate his level on a more comprehensive level.
Today I had also prepared a quiz based
on our previous meeting and what I thought he could benefit from. The
quiz was about prepositions of time (in, on, at, etc.) it took a
total of about 20 min and his score was 5/14 that were incorrect. He
was impressed with his score and very grateful that I had made the
quiz for him and asked me to make more. As we were going over it
together we made charts based on when to use which prepositions.
After the short quiz he told me that he
had a grammar quiz the next day and if we could go over the material
being covered. His quiz was about simple present tense and present
continuous tense. I made a short pop quiz on the material which took
about 10 min. he only made one mistake and it was gone over and
understood.
Until next time

Well done basing materials and lessons on what his needs are!
