I met with my child tutee on 3/23 at 8am with the Panera bagel that I had promised. I woke up extra early just to get to Panera and drive all the way to her aunt's house. I got her the french toast bagel with honey walnut cream cheese because I thought it would be a good match. When I got to her house, today was the first day in a long time that she was up and dressed. I had a feeling she was excited to have her very first America bagel. So, before we got our tutoring session started, I let her eat and enjoy the bagel and she really liked it. She said the bread here is a lot more thick and sweeter, but she really liked sweet stuff so that was a good match. She said she was curious of how just regular plain bagel tastes like and I told her then if she gets all the homework right for next week, I'll buy her a regular plain bagel with any type of cream cheese she wanted. Also, she asked me if she could try a muffin next time. I told her I'd think about it depending on how well she does today. So, basically, this session went extremely well because I think the extrinsic reward of the bagel/muffin was very high.

  1. Reading this blog post while hungry was a bad choice...sounds delicious.
