Kelly TP #13

For my final tutoring session with Ahlam, we decided to work more on prepositions of place and also some more pronunciation.  Ahlam is an older student, and it has been inspiring to watch her progress over the course of the semester. With the help of her CIES classes and a lot of individual study her vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation have all markedly increased.  When we first began our tutoring sessions, Ahlam was only able to compose short sentences and I found it difficult to understand her. However, she is now able to communicate her thoughts a lot more effectively. Just as we talked about in class how in the beginning of learning a language a student makes big jumps which then progressively decrease as the student gets more advanced, I was able to witness that in Ahlam.  I also feel that I have learned a lot from Ahlam as a teacher, because she has challenged me to come up with exercises more appropriate for older students.
