Abdulrahman and I learned how to use the suffix “ing” in our last lesson, so to start this one we reviewed that concept. He had shown improvement, it was clear that he had been practicing on his own. I had seen success with my Toy Story lesson, so I decided to give Abdul the same lesson. Abdulrahman is a hardworking student, but his listening skills need to develop. He had a much more difficult time with the video then my previous students, we had to watch it four times before he could finish the worksheet. I should have taken into consideration our previous experiences and how he compared to the other students before giving him this lesson. The material was not on-par with his level and it was difficult to get through. The dialogue was hard for him to keep up with which resulted in me stopping the video every few seconds to explain what was said. My approach to this lesson was audacious due to the success I was having, but it was a good reminder that all learners are different.
