Sarah CP#2

Last night Isabela and I went to the Fermentation Lounge to have a drink and some conversation. I picked this place because it's generally pretty quiet and I wanted to show her what Tallahassee has to offer outside of "The Strip." She was excited when she saw Raley's, the candy shop next door, and told me she had read an article in class about the owner. We happened to run into my neighbor, who works there, so Isabela got to hear about the candy making process. Next weekend we'll go to see a demo of the process and sample candied beer.

When another group sat down next to us I was worried that Isabela would have a hard time understanding me over the cacophony of drunken native speakers, but this wasn't a problem. They joined our conversation and were really interested in what Isabela had to say. We all talked about Brazilian food and film, soap operas, the World Cup, and her impression of Florida. She really enjoyed her trip to Disney over Spring break, and was delighted that seemingly everyone in Orlando spoke Spanish or Portuguese. I'll be going to Isabela's cultural presentation this Friday, and she said that she would come to mine as well (and bring all her friends!)
