Katelyn Tp #12

I met with Joao last week. It has been a little while since we have met up and I was glad to see him. He mostly wanted to focus in his conversational English - which is what he has been focusing on in most of our sessions. To aid this, i turned to the debate style of conversation - since it fuels both conversational and academic styles of speaking. We discussed some major issues within American culture and how they differ from his home town.

Overall, Joao has a great grasp on his speaking skills. There are only minor mistakes, which are usually involving plurals and some pronunciation. FOr example, he used the plural form of homework "homeworks" to describe the amount of homework he had to do this week. I informed him the homework is an uncountable noun, so the plural form is simply, "homework."

Joao is improving in his English speaking, and I think the more time he has to practice the better he will become.
