TP #6

My sixth tutoring session was with Sally Seo. Sally is a very cool, calm, and intelligent 12 year old. Our session had a good, relaxed pace. Sally takes her time listening to and answering my questions. She told me that she wanted to learn more vocabulary words and get better at answering comprehension questions, as she is nervous about the FCAT. I am upset that the FCAT is still a thing.

I thought our interview would take longer, but it wrapped up pretty quickly, as Sally is a lady of few words. I walked with Sally through the library as she picked a magazine for us to center a extensive reading activity around. She chose a magazine about immigration issues and reform. Dense, relevant. We would be doing an intensive activity. She was able to understand and apply the details of the article (rights of citizenship, paths to citizenship, debates surrounding citizenship) easily.
