Rick Shemanski TP#3
Today I met again with Anton Benzin. Anton is pretty good at speaking and understanding english. I think Anton is somewhere between level 3 and 5 at CIES. When we met today, I asked Anton about what he did over spring break. He said that he went to the beach with CIES and also went to a wolf preserve; where he was able to pet and play with real wolves. Anton said this was a great experience for him, because in Russia are very dangerous and a common threat to people and animals.
After talking about our breaks we began some speaking practice. We started with pronunciation practice. Anton struggles with the -th ending. I assembled a list of simple pairs, one of the pairs was a word ending in -th. We went through the list of simple pairs and Anton practiced his pronunciation of all the words. After simple pairs, we moved into interview questions. Anton has a strong professional background and it is important for him to be able to show his experience and skills to future employers. I asked Anton a question and he had 15 seconds to respond with an appropriate answers.
One of his answer describing his management background needed re-wording to together we wrote out an acceptable answer, that was clear and highlighted his management experience. After finishing the management questions, we returned to the simple pair list. I had Anton pronounce the words again and also use them in a sentence. This sentence forming seemed very beneficial and I will incorporate it again.
