KyungAh TP #16

I cannot believe this is already by 16th post for tutoring! I think it was mainly due to the fact that I meet with my child tutee twice a week for two hours and my CIES tutee once a week. Nonetheless, I met with my CIES tutee today. Usually we meet on Wednesdays, but he said that he had a gathering to go to that night and so, we decided to just meet today. Since it was Monday, I asked him how his day was and how classes were. He seemed tired and I asked him why he was so tired and he said he stayed up last night. I asked him what he was doing and he said he was up studying for the IELTS test. This test is similar in aspect to the TOEFL exam and takes a lot of studying and practice. He said he is going to Tampa soon to take it. I asked him if he felt prepared and he said he was just going to gain "experience." I told him even though he is just doing it for the experience, to just try and prepare far in advance as much as he can. I told him that if he'd like help on anything or if he had any questions he can ask me, but he said that so far he seems to be okay. I noticed that he never really comes to me for questions or help and I wondered if it was because he felt somewhat uncomfortable? He is younger them me and at times I feel he feels embarrassed not knowing or having to ask me to repeat myself. But, I also try to be open minded and am always telling him that I'm here to help if he ever needs assistance in anything. So, after just chatting for a bit he said that he is tired and wants to go home and maybe take a nap. I totally understood that feeling and so I told him that is fine and like I said before, I'm always here if he needs help. So, I told him best of luck and then he left.
