For my third CP session, I took my
conversation partner, Eunkyoung, and my CIES tutee, Daeyoung, to food truck
Thursday at Lake Ella. On the way there,
we talked a bit about governors square mall and a shirt that Daeyoung had
recently purchased which said “ Murica” across the front. Daeyoung asked me
what it meant and whether or not it was offensive. I told her it was basically
a slang way to say America but that at least in my friend circles, it was often
used when imitating someone really Republican and typically southern.
When we got to food truck Thursday we
had a little walk around Lake Ella and then browsed all of the food trucks to
see what we wanted to eat. We all decided on getting these delicious chicken
curry gyros, which we devoured. After
that we just sat around and let our food digest a little while a folk band
played some relaxing music. Both Daeyoung and Eunkyoung said they thoroughly
enjoyed themselves and really liked the calm atmosphere at Lake Ella.
