today was the first day of conversation partners. The lovely Jennifer Dickenson hosted a tea party at the new CIES building. there were plenty of students from all over the world.
prior to the tea party, Ms dickenson sent out an email with our partners and so i was able to introduce myself in an email to Mahsa. she responded quickly with some brief information about herself and seemed hopeful to meet me at the tea party.
Once i got to the party i sat in the bench and waited for Mahsa to meet me. i had given her a short description of myself and my phone number in case she couldnt find me.
We met and i greeted her with a smile and a handshake. she was this beautiful tall young lady from Iran with somewhat fluent skills in english.
we spoke for about 45 minutes about our lives and out education background. I learned so much about Mahsa in the first meeting. I am hopeful that our new found friendship will blossom.
