Julia TP #4
Today, Charles and I met at “Atomic Coffee” instead of home, at his
apartment. He seemed much more focused without his roommates going out and
coming in, although it is not exactly quiet at the coffee place either, of
course. However, what we did today was first a guessing game. We both had to
write down a famous person without showing the other one, so that the other on
can ask guess in using yes and no questions. Other than famous people, we chose
to be some kind of food, an animal and we also chose an occupation. This was an
exercise from “Fun with Grammar”, and instead of playing this game with an
entire class, it was just the two of us, which worked perfectly fine. The other
exercise we did was finding appropriate questions for five answers each, that
we both had to write down. He had started our session with some conversation,
and I have learned a lot of things about Charles. His grandfather, who was the
king of the village (Fada in Burkina Faso) died at the age 120-ish. He told me
that his grandfather, who died six years ago, gave him four horses as a gift.
However, he only kept one and gave the other three to his three sisters…And of
course, he didn’t bring his horse to the US and misses it a lot!
