Kelly CO #2

For my second classroom observation, I observed Angel who taught a level 4 composition class. Since it is finals week, the students spent their class time working on their final papers while Angel and his TEFL intern walked around and helped them with any questions they may have.  The assignment was to do a research paper based off of an academic paper. The students needed an introduction with a thesis statement, then they needed to analyze three main points of the paper, and finally they had to write a conclusion.  Angel’s teaching style is very relaxed and positive, and it is easy to tell that his students feel comfortable with him but also value his input. He emphasized that the students could ask any type of question that they may have, even if it was grammar related. He walked around the classroom and was mainly focusing on helping the students with their thesis statements, because the rest of their paper would be dependent on having that solid foundation.
