Isaac TP#4

Today I had the chance to meet with one of my tutees, Ali. In our previous session we went over basic listening and speaking, but really had difficulty finding material that was at his level. I found that his biggest issues were pronunciation and vocabulary, so this session I figured we would work on pronunciation. I found some work sheets focussing on minimal pairs, I gave him the work sheets and asked him to read out loud. To my surprise, he pronounced almost every word correctly, but when it came to listening he had issues. I found that his biggest problems were with the /f/ and /th/ sounds. Ali is a very quick learner, he showed significant improvement just during our one-hour session. There was one question he had that I found difficult to explain, the word so. During our next session we will focus much more on vocabulary and application of minimal pairs.
